How can you not love this owl and dragonfly?!
An amiable owl assemblage made from embossed copper sheet with a pretty china breast and mother of pearl button eyes, he has talons of coiled brass and a gold leaf beak. He sits on a branch of copper and brass with handmade porcelain flowers and a dragonfly charm, then finished in crystalline verdigris and assembled on a large original old iron key. He is 145mm from top to bottom.
“Whilst digging my garden I found old bits of china in the soil, they were like pieces of buried treasure to me. So I started making these little beasties with them using some scraps of copper from my husband’s workshop. Now I search around antique and vintage shops looking for chipped teacups and lonely saucers to supplement my garden finds.”
